How to Reformat an SD Card Using a Mac

1. Put the card into SD card slot in your computer, in your PAD, or in a USB SD card reader

2. If you are using your PAD, plug the USB cable into your computer, then into your PAD, then power on the PAD

3. Open Finder

4. Open Applications

5. Open Utilities

6. Open Disk Utility

7. Click on the device in the left column (you should see a white square icon)

8. Click the "Erase" tab on the right side

9. Enter a name for your SD card in the "Name" field if there isn’t already one listed. We recommend PAD or NXTLynk.

10. Select "MS-DOS FILE SYSTEM” under Volume Format

11. Click Erase

12. Confirm "Erase All Data" by clicking Erase

13. After the format is complete, close the disk utility window

14. Drag the PAD icon to the trash to eject the device safely
